Professional experience

With over 14 years experience with DWC FoodTech, Stephen actively represents the company across all facets of services whilst working with food processing establishments throughout Australia and internationally.

As an Approved Person for thermally process foods, Stephen manages DWC FoodTech’s Thermal Process Authority division as well as managing and conducting process evaluation and temperature (and heat) distribution studies, optimisation of heat treatments, thermal processing training courses, HACCP evaluations and packaging hermetic seal integrity analysis.

Professional experience

Commencing work with DWC FoodTech in July 2009, Douglas has enhanced the food process engineering aspects of DWC FoodTech’s activities across the national and international food processing industries. The scope of these activities includes equipment commissioning, optimising operational efficiencies, predictive modelling and preventative maintenance.  In addition to this Douglas also assists with the design and validation of UHT systems incorporating fluid dynamics and thermal process calculations..

Professional experience

With experience in managing the operations of a food pilot facilty, James brings to DWC FoodTech his food process engineering skills to work nationally and internationally in the design and validation of UHT aseptic and microwave systems. With his experience in working with (and training of) numerous food processing tehnologies, James adds to DWC FoodTech’s already well established industry training programs and Process Authority services.

Professional experience

Over 30 years experience in the Australian and international food and beverage processing and packaging industries and Academia, and the previous Managing Director of DWC FoodTech. Consultant to national and multinational food manufacturers and packaging material suppliers and regulators. Authored the manual for, and is the lead presenter for, the Approved Persons Course (APC) which is conducted in partnership with CSIRO Food and Nutritional Sciences. This course, which is the only one of its type in Australia and New Zealand, has been presented since 1997 and represents the highest level of training in thermal processing that is available in these countries. In parallel with the APC, DWC FoodTech also offers a similar program which deals with UHT processing and packaging. These courses provide national and international participants with the necessary skills to design and implement safe and commercially viable thermal schedules for the processing of food and beverages using conventional retorting, pasteurisation and UHT systems.
